When you add treasures, we store the photos, descriptions, and provenance information you enter. When you use our professional directory, we collect search queries and location information you provide.

We automatically collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your account and stored treasures
• Process AI evaluations of your treasures when requested
• Connect you with professionals through our directory
• Process payments for premium subscriptions
• Send you service-related communications
• Improve our services

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• Treasures you make public: If you set a treasure's sharing level to public, its photos and description are visible to other users and may appear in search results.
• Professional directory: Professionals who register for our directory have their business information displayed publicly.
• Service providers: We use Stripe for payment processing, Google for authentication, SendGrid for email, and a variety of AI service providers for AI evaluations. These providers receive only the information necessary to provide their services.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secured servers. Photos are stored using Cloudflare R2 storage. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and follow industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your account information at any time
• Delete individual treasures and their associated photos
• Request deletion of your account by contacting us
• Set treasures to private to control visibility

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. AI Evaluations

When you request an AI evaluation, your treasure's photos and description are sent to third-party AI services for analysis. These providers' use of this data is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not use your treasure data to train AI models.

8. Children's Privacy

ProvenanceVault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
